The blog offers a short list on home styles to help you find and decide on a perfect home that befits your requirement.

People are buying homes at extremely low mortgage rates and at the same time few are buying homes at incredible prices.

Usually the most feared challenge is to find your dream home. You know what sort of style, room size or amenities that your home must possess. But when a listing describes a home's style as Cape Cod or Bungalow, they don’t fancy your Imagination, as you not really sure as to what these terms mean.

Cape Cod

A typical one-story - sometimes 1 ½ home that has a steep roofline, multi-pane windows, wood siding and often have dormer windows for added space.

Colonial

These homes characteristically have 2 or 3 stories, large fireplaces and brick or wood facades. Similar to a Cape Cod the windows of a colonial home are arranged around the center door, with narrow side windows on either side.

Victorian

A classic Victorian home style features a steeply pitched roof, large bay windows, a dominant front-facing gable, decorative accents like patterned shingles or spindles, and an asymmetrical exterior with a partial or full-width front porch.

Contemporary

As the name suggests, these are modern era home styles with glass, open floor plans and unique designs. Typically they steer clear of excessive ornamentation and unnecessary details, placing more emphasis on flat-face exteriors and incorporating the surrounding landscape into their overall look.
